Deborah Morbeto, who was born and raised in Massachusetts, graduated with a degree in Art History from Massachusetts College of Art in 1992. She began painting on her own seriously when she moved to Virginia in 1995 and since then has produced a large body of work.
Deborah likes to work on both large and small paintings that often use several different media, including oil and acrylic paint, wax, paper, glue, pastel, crayon, chalk and pencil. She is constantly experimenting with texture and color, producing richly colored paintings.
Deborah loves making art 'just for the fun of it' even though she considers art making her one true calling. "Its relaxing, fun, exciting, challenging, silly, intense and spiritual all at once," she says, "and it helps keep me sane!" Deborah likes the playful aspect of art making and enjoys trying out new techniques as often as she can.
Deborah has exhibited and sold her paintings extensively. Her work can be seen in various local venues. Over the years she has also sold her work online, sending pieces to Texas, California and abroad.
