ABOUT THE ART
Lori Wiseman
Summer Afternoon in Charlevoix
15” x 18”
oil on canvas
2009
Estimated Value: $400
Starting Bid: $135

In this painting I hoped to convey the quiet magic of a warm, late-summer afternoon in northern Michigan. The beauty of this site, the deep wooded colors, the gentle breezes, the sunshine on the water. All wrapped around me, taking me to a quiet calming place in my mind. Allowing me to study for silent moments the light shimmering through the leaves and grasses, the reflections on the water. A magic place I hope the viewer will want to explore.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
As with most artists, creative pursuits have dominated my life. A love of painting, drawing, and architecture ultimately led to a long career in the design arts (graphics, illustration and packaging, interior, and residential design.) Now that our children are older, I have found time again for painting. My earlier design experiences, along with my family and friends, have added wonderful color to my paintings—and my life.
