Nathaniel C. Moffat began painting in 2000. From brooding color fields, he moved to explorations at the intersection of symbolism and texture. His later work takes a sympathetic look back at a failed civilization from some dystopian future. He finds inspiration in shortwave radio transmissions, skywriting, cave paintings, early computers, textiles, and economics.
