Pat is painting a series of Historical Paintings of Northern Virginia and has done abut 60 in the series so far. These works represent how Virginia and this area looked approximately 100+ years ago. Leesburg Pike in the Early 1900s shows the Pike (Route 7) was a dirt road. The farmer started another road to the right and it was used so much it dug deeper and deeper. Later, of course, it was leveled and made into multiple lanes.
