ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sally Rhoads is an amateur artist who has been painting and creating for almost forty years.  She has always loved working with her hands, and as a left-handed person, found early art instruction difficult, as it was geared toward right-handed people.  She has coupled a love for collecting (rare books, art, and art pottery) with a love of the creative process and has found artistic endeavors as a retreat from her busy public life in education and politics.  Sally started painting in acrylics as a means of documenting special events in the lives of her family.  Her paintings serve as a sort of visual journal.  Over the past year, she has begun taking ceramics classes and has received rave reviews from her teacher.  She has a bold approach to color and a willingness to try difficult projects and push beyond the usual limits .
