ABOUT THE ARTIST
Yvette attended Kingsborough College in Brooklyn, New York. She has participated in many extensive workshops in the Northern Virginia area. The workshops included watercolors and acrylics with Maureen Wolford from 2006-2008, oriental brush strokes with Darlene Kaplan in 2007, and in 2008, Rob Vander Zee’s" 9 Elements of Master Painting" Workshop, watercolor "flipping technique "with Gwen Bragg, photography with Susan McKenzie and an encaustic workshop.

Yvette’s art work has been selected for exhibition by Green Spring’s Art Show with “Blossom” juried by Gwen Bragg, Lorton Workhouse’s Grand Opening Art Show with “Wildflower” juried, The Art League’s" Small Works" Art Show with “In The Current” juried by Susan Frank and Capitol Hill Art League Show “Moonstruck” juried by Trinka Margua Simon.

Yvette is currently a board member and art show chair for the Springfield Art Guild (SAG), and volunteers at St. Raymond’s Church Art & Craft Bazaar. She has a permanent exhibit, “Rainbow Light”, at the INOVA Kellar Center. She has judged for Sangster’s PTA Reflection Art Contest from 2004-2006, Springfield’s Flag Contest at Interstate Lines in 2008 and the Springfield Woman’s Club in 2008. Yvette has lived in Springfield, Virginia since 1992. She is a stay at home mom who volunteers for community projects at church, girl scouts, schools and libraries.
